Program Description:

DESCRIPTION

  • Aarhus University is a young, modern university established in 1928. It has grown to become a leading public research university with international reach covering the entire research spectrum. Aarhus University plays a decisive and essential role at the hub of the city of Aarhus.
  • Students can choose from courses in a wide range of subjects.
  • Aarhus is Denmark’s second largest city and the youngest measured in terms of the average age of its inhabitants, which is far lower than anywhere else in the country, giving the city a youthful and exciting vibrancy.

APPLYING To A U Summer Program

  1. Complete Learning Abroad 101.  This is a short information session about programs, applications, financial aid, and scholarships. You can complete Learning Abroad 101 online.
  2. Pre-approve your courses through your U of U application. 
  3. Submit your Applications. You will submit TWO Applications for this Program. These Applications can be completed at the same time.
    • U of U Application- Click Apply Now at the top of your screen to get started.
    • Aarhus Summer University Application- Click on the Homepage link above to to start your U Summer application.
  4. Commit to your U of U Application. You will receive an acceptance email to your Umail account. Log into your U of U Application and Commit to your Program within 3 business days of acceptance!
  5. Complete the Post-Decision Steps. Finish the Post-Decision steps in your U of U Application by the deadlines provided.

ACADEMICS & ACCOMMODATION

  • Courses and accommodation are organized by Aarhus (Click on the Homepage link above)
  • Credits earned through a U Summer Program will be transfer credits
  • See the Learning Abroad Handbook, for information about Course Pre-Approval for transfer credits
  • Participants must earn credit and are required to meet course enrollment requirements set by the U Summer program 

DATES

  • Find TENTATIVE program dates above
  • Participants are responsible for arranging travel to and from the host country for most programs
  • Participants should wait to purchase airfare until they have been officially accepted into the program
  • Participants should compare the program dates to the University of Utah academic calendar

FINANCES

  • Scholarships and Financial Aid may be available!  Visit our Financial Aid and Scholarships page for more information!
  • Contact the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid to determine if your financial aid and scholarships can be applied to your Learning Abroad program 
  • U Summer Program Fees are paid directly to Aarhus.  
  • Read the full Withdrawal Penalty Policy BEFORE applying.

PROGRAM ADVISING

  • Program advising is available through Navigate U
  • Please schedule an appointment with an Exchange Coordinator. 
  • You must complete Learning Abroad 101 before meeting with a Coordinator.
