Queen Mary University Direct Enroll Program
Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) offers a true taste of London life in one of the most urban, trendy, and progressive areas of London. With students from over 160 nationalities, the university has an exceptionally diverse student population and is located in one of the most multicultural cities in the world.

Choose from a broad range of academic options for virtually any major with options to study across up to four different disciplines or to immerse yourself in one subject area.

The CAPA Queen Mary University program includes comprehensive pre-departure support, orientation, welcome and farewell events, access to the CAPA London My Global City Calendar, and CAPA Emergency Services, including the CAPA Guardian App. In addition, take advantage of the activities, events, and support services provided by Queen Mary.

Program Fee and Inclusions

  • Enroll in a maximum of 5 courses or the equivalent of 30 ECTS credits, which translates to approximately 15 U.S. credits (may vary depending on your school's policy)
  • Live in shared student resident housing (self-catered) on campus or choose a homestay (with your own room and two meals a day) within a commuting distance to campus
  • Take advantage of the many clubs, societies, and social events offered on campus
  • 24-hour emergency support
  • Comprehensive medical, travel and accident insurance

WHAT IS AN AFFILIATE?

An Affiliate is a partner organization that is evaluated and approved by the University of Utah. Affiliates offer classes in both English and the host language. You may take classes with other U.S. students, international students, or students from the host country. Many affiliates provide special services such as visa support, housing, cultural excursions, and on-site staffing to help you navigate your host country.

APPLYING TO AN AFFILIATE PROGRAM

  1. Complete Learning Abroad 101. This is a short information session about programs, applications, financial aid, and scholarships. You can complete Learning Abroad 101 in-person or online.
  2. Submit your Applications. You will submit TWO Applications for this Program. These Applications can be completed at the same time.
    • U of U Application- Click Apply Now at the top of your screen to get started and submit the Initial Payment.
    • Affiliate Application- Click on the Homepage link above to find your Affiliate Application. Contact the Affiliate if you have questions.
  3. Commit to your U of U Application. You will receive an acceptance email to your Umail account. Log into your U of U Application and Commit to your Program within 3 business days of acceptance!
  4. Upload your Affiliate Acceptance Letter. When you receive your acceptance letter from the Affiliate, upload a copy in your U of U Application.
  5. Complete the Post-Decision Steps. Finish the Post-Decision steps in your U of U Application by the deadlines provided.

  • TENTATIVE dates are listed above. Compare the dates to the University of Utah academic calendar to avoid scheduling conflicts.
  • You are responsible for arranging transportation to and from the host country for most Programs.
  • Do not purchase your flight until you read the instructions in the Learning Abroad Handbook.

FINANCES

  • Scholarships and Financial Aid may be available. Visit our Financial Aid and Scholarships page for more information.
  • Information about Program Costs, Billing timelines & Due Dates are available to help you plan. 
  • Beginning with the Fall 2024 term, Learning Abroad will place a $550 program fee to your student account for the term that you are abroad. The program fee will be $250 for Virtual Programs/Internships. The program fee covers the services Learning Abroad provides. 
  • Affiliate Program Fees (non-billable) are established by the Affiliate and are in addition to any fees paid to the University of Utah. These fees are paid in lieu of University of Utah on-campus tuition and housing costs. Click on the homepage link above for more information on Affiliate fees and inclusions.
  • Read the full Withdrawal & Dismissal Penalty Policy before applying.

PROGRAM ADVISING

  • Program advising is available through our Learning Abroad Coordinators.
  • You will automatically be assigned to a Coordinator when you start your U of U Application. Coordinators are assigned based on your major.
  • You must complete Learning Abroad 101 before meeting with a Coordinator.
