Study Abroad in Seville

This versatile program allows you to choose courses from a range of subject areas, including biology, art history, economics, chemistry, communications, finance, and more. Semester and academic year students take courses through the CEA Seville Center, the University of Seville (USS) or Pablo de Olavide University (UPO). Classes are taught in English and Spanish for all levels of Spanish language ability. Attending class at our partner institutions alongside local and other international students—and observing local student culture on campus—contributes to an integrated experience. Diverse course offerings allow you to earn credits toward your major and graduation requirements. Summer students take classes focused on cultural studies at the CEA Seville Center.

Where You'll Study

Students take classes at the CEA Seville Center and one of CEA"s partner institutions - Pablo de Olavide University or University of Seville. Enjoy interactive courses that incorporate a global perspective at the CEA Seville Center. Your learning comes to life through hands-on experiences that turn Seville into a living classroom. The Center is conveniently located in the center of the city, near Seville’s stunning la Giralda cathedral. Founded in 1505, the University of Seville is one of Spain’s largest educational institutions. Join other international students in courses taught in your choice of Spanish and English. Set on a pleasant campus just outside of the city center, Pablo de Olavide University offers modern amenities not often found in an urban setting, including athletic, laboratory, and technical facilities. Enjoy an immersive experience at this exclusive university. Students will receive a transcript from the University of New Haven, CEA's School of Record, and either the University of Seville or Pablo de Olavide University upon completion of their program.

WHAT IS AN AFFILIATE?

An Affiliate is a partner organization that is evaluated and approved by the University of Utah. Affiliates offer classes in both English and the host language. You may take classes with other U.S. students, international students, or students from the host country. Many affiliates provide special services such as visa support, housing, cultural excursions, and on-site staffing to help you navigate your host country.

CEA CAPA GUARANTEED SCHOLARSHIP 

As a University of Utah student, you will automatically receive an affiliate grant when you study abroad with CEA CAPA. Academic Year: $1500; Semester: $750; Summer: $300.

APPLYING TO AN AFFILIATE PROGRAM

  1. Complete Learning Abroad 101. This is a short information session about programs, applications, financial aid, and scholarships. You can complete Learning Abroad 101 in-person.

  2. Submit your Applications. You will submit TWO Applications for this Program. These Applications can be completed at the same time.
    • U of U Application- Click Apply Now at the top of your screen to get started 
    • Affiliate Application- Click on the Homepage link above to find your Affiliate Application. Contact the Affiliate if you have questions.
  3. Commit to your U of U Application. You will receive an acceptance email to your Umail account. Log into your U of U Application and Commit to your Program within 3 business days of acceptance!
  4. Complete the Post-Decision Steps. Finish the Post-Decision steps in your U of U Application by the deadlines provided.

  • TENTATIVE dates are listed above. Compare the dates to the University of Utah academic calendar to avoid scheduling conflicts.
  • You are responsible for arranging transportation to and from the host country for most Programs.
  • Do not purchase your flight until you read the instructions in the Learning Abroad Handbook.

  • Affiliate Program Fees (non-billable) are established by the Affiliate and are in addition to any fees paid to the University of Utah. These fees are paid in lieu of University of Utah on-campus tuition and housing costs. Click on the homepage link above for more information on Affiliate fees and inclusions.
