LEARNING ABROAD

This trip was the absolute best time of my life! If you get the chance to go on this Fiji trip with Kelly and Nate, you've got to take it. You learn how to scuba dive and have the opportunity to swim with sharks. You get to have nice dinners every night with amazing people in luxury places. One of the islands you stay at, is like a dot in the middle of the ocean, its surreal. You get course credit for snorkeling around and planting coral. This trip is was THE BEST it possibly could've been.

I highly recommend this program. I cannot think of a better way to visit Fiji than with Kelly, Nate, and Adam. The level of knowledge and cultural immersion we had access to through this program would be nearly impossible to replicate if you were going it alone as a tourist. This program will leave you changed for the better.

I learned so much from this trip outside of a typical classroom environment, whether it was from Fijians telling us the history of their ancestors or how they live off the land, hearing amazing stories from my professors about their travels and experiences across the world, or hearing about all the unique hobbies students in my group were passionate about. I will never forget this experience and I hope other people seek out to make the most of an opportunity like this. Kelly and Nate were phenomenal professors to travel with. They are brilliant people and make such an awesome team. I learned so much from them and I hope they continue the program so future students can learn from them as well while discovering the true beauty of Fiji.

This program was the best decision I have ever made in my whole entire life. I did things I never thought I would do (swim with sharks) and I am an entirely better person for it. Anyone and everyone should do this program.

This course was one of the best experiences of my life. Everything from the food we ate and the resorts we stayed in, to the information we learned and the activities we participated in were excellent. This course helped me grow both as a student and as an individual. After taking this course I feel more confident in myself and I have a better perspective on what life is like outside of Western nations. Finally, this course is filled with once in a lifetime opportunities. During the course, I scuba dived with sharks, went rafting in one of the most beautiful canyons in the world, met incredible people, experienced a unique culture, and learned about a number of fascinating topics such as tourism and marine biology from some of the most respected individuals in the world. This course was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I will be forever grateful for my time in Fiji during the course.

This program was amazing and a true once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The environment itself is stunning, and coupled with the ability to learn about marine ecology and the become immersed in the culture in a manner inaccessible in most other types of trips, this was a completely unforgettable experience. As soon as I was leaving I wanted to go back, and I miss Fiji and the camaraderie of our group all the time. If you have the chance to participate in this program, don't pass it up.

Can be a culture shock at first, but keep an open mind!

Sustainability in the pacific islands is three weeks in paradise and so much more! This trip allowed me to learn and grow as a person and learn so much about Fiji's culture and people. I had the opportunity to do so many incredible things I don't think i'll ever have the opportunity to do again. Such as scuba diving in the most beautiful and colorful reefs, being invited into the home of a village chief, river rafting through the deep jungle. It's hard to put into words how great this study abroad was for me!

I highly recommend participating in a learning abroad program. The academic, personal, and professional impacts will contribute to life-long growth and success. This experience changed my life for the better in countless ways.
