DESCRIPTION

  • Every year, more than 500 students from no less than 80 countries make MISU a truly international experience. Benefit from access to renowned professors who will inspire you to broaden your thinking and your goals. Immerse yourself in German through a wide array of language courses. Choose a Summer Academy from the entire spectrum of the natural sciences, social sciences, and the humanities. Gain credit towards your degree. Take advantage of a broad range of services which will help make your stay an enriching and unforgettable experience in Munich – one of Germany’s hubs of history, culture, and outdoor activities.
  • MISU Summer Academies are demanding courses or short-term research programs that cover the whole gamut of the natural sciences, social sciences, and the humanities. MISU offers programs for all levels of study--for international bachelor's, master's, and doctoral students, and for young professionals as well. The array of Summer Academies and Partner Programs has been continually expanded over the last years.
  • Munich, or München in German, is a major center for higher education, research, technology, and the media. LMU, the University in the heart of Munich, forms an integral part of the urban landscape and has campuses throughout the city. Munich is not only Germany’s primary hub for higher education and research, it also has its own inimitable appeal. Its location within easy reach of the Bavarian Alps, its urban flair, its rich palette of cultural institutions and the wide variety of leisure activities available attract visitors from all over the world.
  • Special Notes:
-All summer academies are conducted in English by distinguished faculty who are committed to excellence in research and teaching–a fantastic opportunity for you to grow as a future academic or professional, and as an individual.
-The courses last between two and ten weeks, with intensive teaching in small groups to optimize your engagement with the subject. Learning in class is usually combined with a range of independent study activities such as reading, preparing for classes, and completing assignments which deepen your knowledge of the subject and foster your ability to work in a self-motivated way.
-The Summer Academies are complemented by a cultural program designed to be enriching as well as great fun. They can also include German language instruction.
-Each Summer Academy is responsible for its own admissions. Please check the website of the course in which you wish to enroll for detailled information.

Program Reviews:
Summer 2023 Participant
MISU is a great program to learn and immerse yourself in the German language and culture. It can be difficult to be in a different country and the people at the school and the area are really friendly. Ask questions and let yourself get to know others and your professors. It will make for a great experience.
